How to use Poured

The short, practical version: how pages get made, how you change them, and what costs what. No technical background needed.

Creating a page

There is no special Poured area inside Claude, and you never start from a blank editor. You create pages by talking: connect Poured once on the Connect page, then in any Claude chat describe what you want and mention Poured, for example “make a one-page summary of this and publish it to Poured”. Claude builds the page and hands you a live link. The page also appears here under Pages. Prefer not to chat? Clone a ready-made page from the Gallery or upload an HTML file yourself.

Editing a page

Every page you own is editable, always, in two ways. For small changes (fix a typo, rewrite a sentence, swap a picture), open the page in your dashboard and use the Edit tab: click any text and type, then Save. This happens entirely on Poured and uses none of your AI credits. Each save becomes a new version at the same link, and you can roll back to any earlier version in Details. For bigger changes, ask Claude in the chat, or type a note to Claude directly into the page in the Edit tab, save, and then ask Claude to read the page and apply your notes.

Pages that just show things, and pages that collect things

A plain page shows content: a report, an invitation, a menu. An app also collects things from the people you share it with: RSVPs, guestbook entries, sign-ups, votes. If you want visitors to be able to add or save something, say so when you ask Claude, for example “make it so guests can RSVP on the page”. This choice is only about what your visitors can do. You can always edit your own page either way, and turning a plain page into an app later is a normal request to Claude, not starting over.

What uses your AI credits, and what is free

Creating or changing a page through the Claude chat is a normal Claude conversation, so it counts against your Claude plan like any other chat. Building a full page is a big job for the AI: on a free Claude plan a single page can use most of a session’s allowance. Everything after publishing runs on Poured and costs no AI credits at all: people opening your link, visitors adding RSVPs or notes to an app, and every edit you make yourself in the dashboard’s Edit tab. Poured itself is free during the beta.

What Poured is not for

Poured shines when your AI has made something worth sharing: a document, a dashboard, an invitation, a small app for a known group of people, live on a real link within minutes, with you in control of who sees it. It is not a website builder. If you need a full product with its own domain, an online shop, customer accounts, or a large multi-page site that a team develops over months, a builder like Lovable or a developer and real hosting serve you better. A good rule of thumb: if it fits in one self-contained page and you mostly want to share it and stay in control, pour it.
